The Feelings:
If you’re looking at a calendar and then looking at the date this is posted it… don’t say anything. A lot has been going on on my family life and that is reflecting in my school work. But, I am working towards catching up which is making me feel a lot better. School wise… holy moly, a lot is happening all at the same time! again, it’s okay I’m working on keeping afloat.
Tech ED:
This week in class we had guest speaker Jesse Miller virtually talk to us about online citizenship. In his presentation there were a multitude of eye widening and jaw dropping fact thrown at us. For example, using school wifi= not private and tech can see everything you text and post?! not something that I was aware of. Although these other facts were intimidating and jaw dropping, what stuck out to me the most was the personal story he shared. These stories were all about teachers that were being terminated from the job for taking and posting pictures in the classroom. These stories had me reflecting on my summer and all the pictures I took while I was a the head camp leader. After scrolling through my camera roll and thoroughly examining all the pictures taken during camp hours, the photo below is one of the few that don’t have a camper in it. After listening to Jesse’s presentation and reflecting looking through all my pictures, I realized that some teachers had been fired or written up for less compared to the photos on my phone. I obviously took the appropriate action to the pictures on my phone, nonetheless, my perspective has been forever changes on how I use technology and photography not just in the classroom, but in my work life.
