Hi! My name is Jayda Konnila, I am 20 years old and I hate the feeling of falling. You know that feeling when a plane is lowering to start landing, or when you come rushing down after reaching the maximum height on the playground swings? free falling… I hate it. The stomach upset and having my lungs crushing my trachea on the way down, the brief moment when you think “this is it”. These are the things that keep me from excelling in a sport I have loved for many years, climbing, more specifically lead climbing. This inquiry blog is providing me with the opportunity to get back into the sport after a brief hiatus, as well as training myself to face the feeling of falling once again and work towards not being being scared to fall while climbing, and not being phased when I inevitably do fall. I am excited to use this blog as a tool to track my progress and allow myself to visually see improvement whether that be through entries made on my blog, or through posting media such as videos and photos.
