This weeks class was titled ‘choose your own adventure’ and I wasn’t too sure what that entailed. The choices we were given were another EdCamp, digital storytelling, and a workshop on how to use Canva. When I saw Canva as an option I don’t believe that I have ever signed up for a workshop so fast in my life. Canva is a graphic design tool that I have been DYING to learn. I had always understood that it was kind of hard to learn and I assumed that you needed a paid subscription. When I learnt that I could use canva for free and that it was relatively easy to learn. To say I was stoked, was an understatement.
During class I watched a few tutorials and then started to make my own virtual classroom. As I began to put together my virtual classroom, I quickly realized that using canva is not as hard to use as I perceived it. It is as simple as choosing a template and then dragging and dropping the elements that you want.

Learning Canva has given me the opportunity to create works and presentations in a variety of different ways. I have already made a presentation for my Link2Practice and a poster for a gallery walk for my EDCI 250 seminar. I definitely see myself using Canva in my classroom and for the rest of my degree. Please enjoy the masterpiece of dinosaurs I created below.

I am so glad you enjoyed Canva, Jayda!
Jayda, the classroom you designed is awesome! I made a classroom as well, but it more so evolved to a Christmas room.
